Bio
Marty Ollstein has been making films since his first dramatic film Abraham was accepted into the prestigious Critic’s Week at the Cannes Festival. His film Michael won the Directors Guild Foundation Award. He directed Elliott Gould in Dangerous Love, a romantic thriller set in the singles dating scene.
His experience as a feature cinematographer enables him to create the look of a film and fully realize his vision. Some of his cinematography credits include Penitentiary (1 and 3), Broken Bridges, and The Haircut (starring John Cassavetes).
His expertise in the digital technology of cinema complements his work as a filmmaker. Based on his extensive knowledge of camera filters, he developed the first digital cinematography filtration, Crystal Image software, and created and managed the Software Division of the world-renowned Tiffen Filter Company.
Ollstein is also a mountaineer and has climbed peaks from California’s Sierras to the Alps. He climbed the Matterhorn by Whymper’s route as first hand research for EXPOSURE.
